Remco van der Mije joins GARBE Institutional Capital as Senior Investment Manager and Fund Manager for Science & Technology Real Estate. The 37-year-old will expand the company's pan-European Science & Tech platform together with the management team. His tasks include the further development of the operating model and ESG-strategy as well as strategic investment planning and portfolio optimisation, among others. He reports to Managing Director Thomas Kallenbrunnen.
Remco van der Mije joins GARBE Institutional Capital from financial audit, tax and advisory company KPMG. At KPMG, he worked as Director Strategy & Operations Financial Services and European Lead for Corporate Real Estate Practices. In this position, he advised the senior management of real estate investors, developers and occupiers, e.g. on the design of operating models, financial performance, M&A and sustainability strategies.
Previously, Remco van der Mije was part of the Dutch Management Team and EMEA Consulting Board of JLL. During his time at JLL he worked for international companies such as GSK and Royal Philips as a seconded expert. Thus, he gained substantial experience within the companies’ M&A and real estate teams while working with R&D, manufacturing and life science teams. In addition, he advised various tech, biotech and pharmaceutical companies on a broad range of strategic corporate real estate projects. Remco van der Mije also gained extensive international experience working in Amsterdam, London, Brussels and Zurich.
